SNOW DAY!!!!

Today is the first of 2 snow days!!! That's right, SNOW days. However, you need to know a few details about what exactly "snow day" means. See, it means different things to different people. To me and my "upbringing" it means that there is about 2 feet of snow on the ground, which fell too late in the night so the 15 snow plows in our town can't get it all cleaned up in time for school to start. It also means that you will only have 1 day off of school so you better "live it up!". However, brace yourself because that is definitely not the definition of a "snow day" in Tennessee.
In Tennessee, you have to completely change your frame of reference! First of all, they only have about 2 snow plows in the whole state. Which, would make sense because they only use it about once every 5 years or so. However, on that one year they need the snow plows it's like 2 mice living in a huge warehouse. You know they're there but for the life of you...you never see them or hear of them. And it takes about 4 days for them to get from one side of the warehouse to the other. Anyway, so the end result is that if it threatens to snow AT ALL, they have to basically shut the whole state down. If it actually does snow, all chaos breaks loose and nothing is open or working. So, I get many much more snow days than you can every imagine.
Now, for some of you who have a hard time believing that this is actually the case. I have taken a picture of the evidence to show you what just an inch of snow can do here. 1-2 inches = 2 snow days and many happy teachers/students in Sumner County Schools! Enjoy! :)

yes. You also forgot to say that it had to be BELOW zero and have snowed 2 feet. Just an add on to our 'up bringing.' Hilarous though. Steel Food...hord gas...

And it doesn't matter that everyone living in the country can't even get out of their drive way because there's so much snow. If the superintendent can get to school, so can everyone else. Hold on guys, I can still find my golf ball.
